“What’s Happening?” is a Western painting which features a ranch setting with a cowboy, Palomino Quarter Horse and Border Collie looking into a pen. This painting was a technical challenge. Finally got it to where I was happy with it. The reference photo I took of the cowboy and his Palomino horse was at a team roping event in Wickenburg, Arizona. I added both some character to the pen and a Border Collie. I now live in the mountains of Arizona so I added the pine trees in the background.
