“What’s Happening?” is a Western painting which features a ranch setting with a cowboy, Palomino Quarter Horse and Border Collie looking into a pen. This painting was a technical challenge. Finally got it to where I am happy with it. The reference photo I took at a team roping event in Wickenburg, AZ had a lot of problems. I was intriged by the perspective on the rails and the story. I added in the dog and a forest background.
